History of LECIEN Lace

LECIEN Lace and the Lace Archive

The company name “LECIEN” was chosen in honor of a French lace manufacturer with whom the founders had close ties at the time of establishment.

Beginning with lace imports, the company has collected lace since its founding for lace designers’ creative work, establishing the lace archive.

The lace archive houses samples collected over many years and a collection passed down by a French costume historian. (Not open to the public)

The collection also holds approximately 100,000 pieces of European antique lace from the late 16th to 19th century and silk jacquard, among others.

Drawing on the spirit of old Europe while creating lace based on the latest trend information, LECIEN lace receives high praise from many quarters.
